50 Unique Ways You Can Use AI Deep Research for Marketing

50 Unique Ways You Can Use AI Deep Research for Marketing

AI continues to evolve so quickly that this week’s newest update can take months to catch up on. One of the bigger, more recent generative AI updates in the marketing world is the launch of OpenAI’s Deep Research mode, which puts together detailed research reports from visiting dozens of different websites.

What separates OpenAI’s deep research (and Google Gemini’s deep research offering) from other LLMs is the emphasis on deeper reasoning and research. Detailed citations are included in reports, and you can specify what types of sources you want the LLM to focus on, such as educational sites, trade publications, competitor websites, or even your own materials.

The end result is a powerful research tool that can save marketers a dramatic amount of time and effort on various tasks. Research and analysis are often the “boring” part of marketing strategy, and marketers are known to skip past this phase and get right to the more creative aspects of marketing — right-side brains unite!

As we’re still exploring deep research for marketing here at WebFX, we wanted to put together a list of early use cases to provide marketers with ways to utilize this new aspect of generative AI. Here are the different deep research examples to note:

Notes on using deep research prompts

The prompt examples below are usually too broad to appeal to the audience reading this post. The more detail and color you can add, the better the result will be. Feeding in specific competitors or seeding the prompt with a few of your initial ideas helps a ton.

You could run these same prompts through any LLM and get a decent result, but the deep research models will yield better insights and afford the opportunity to refine where and how the LLM is putting together the response.
