Today’s consumers are increasingly using mobile devices to find services that they need for their homes.

Those services range from HVAC installation to painting, and they’re in constant demand by homeowners who want to make improvements and repairs.

But that demand doesn’t mean much for your business if potential customers can’t find you online. That’s why you need to use mobile marketing for your home services company.

With mobile marketing, you can make sure your customers find your business whenever they need your services.

And that means more revenue for you!

Do you want to deliver both convenience and ease to your customers in order to increase conversion rates? You can call 888-601-5359 or contact us online to speak with one of our experts today!

For more information about the effectiveness of mobile marketing and four simple strategies you can use, keep reading!

Mobile marketing method #1: Google My Business (free)

Home services companies typically work with local customers. That means your target audience is people within 10-100 miles of your business (depending on population) so you can constantly get new leads.

Google Business Profile is the best way to capture those leads.

With Google Business Profile, you give all of your company’s contact information to Google, so they can start showing your business in user search results.

So say you’re a plumber in a small town. If someone were to Google “plumbers in [your town]”, then Google would show them the following information about your business:

  1. Company name
  2. Address
  3. Phone number
  4. Hours of operation
  5. Website
  6. Google Maps directions
  7. Any Google review

That’s a lot of information for a few minutes spent on Google Business Profile. And the best part is that it’s free!

With that in mind, you have absolutely nothing to lose (and everything to gain) by filling out information for Google Business Profile. Even if you have a simple website with just a few words of text and your phone number, you can still show up in Google searches for your industry.

If you’re still not convinced, just check out these statistics:

  1. 50% of all mobile searches are for local results
  2. 80% of local searches convert into leads
  3. Google processes 1 trillion searches per year

So let’s say 10 people in your area perform two Google searches tomorrow. Statistically, five of those people will look for businesses that are near them.

Beyond that, eight of those searches will convert into leads.

On paper, Google Business Profile is one of the smartest things you can do for your company. And it works out in reality, too.

WebFX has used Google Business Profile for years now. It’s connected us to potential clients seamlessly, and it’s helped us promote our brand in a highly-competitive industry.

We use it for our clients as well — especially home services providers.

If you’re looking for a low-cost, high-yield marketing strategy for your company, Google Business Profile should be your first step.

Five gold stars

“We were looking for a forward-thinking but down to earth SEO company to partner with. Not only were we looking to build a long term business relationship but we needed them to understand our needs as a small company. And WebFX met all of that criteria. Our experience has been unparalleled; from the sales team who made the drive to our office to meet us in person to our Internet Marketer who has been an absolute joy to work with. They are completely transparent about their services and they take the time to explain everything which not only sets them apart from every other SEO company we have worked with but we also feel like we’re taking something away from our interactions with the staff at WebFX. We are exited to see where this year will take us knowing that we have such a great support system with their company.”

Mobile marketing method #2: Responsive design

If you want to succeed online, you need a website. A website acts as your home service company’s base of operations for all Internet marketing initiatives, and it’s where your visitors convert into paying customers.

But you can’t just have a website with your company name — you need a robust, streamlined website that provides a pleasant experience for your users.

Your site should:

  1. Allow customers to convert into leads from every page
  2. Answer frequently asked questions in-depth
  3. Provide multimedia to keep your site interesting

That used to be enough for mobile marketing. But now, you also need your site to be responsive.

Responsive web design allows your site to automatically fit the screen of the device a person uses. So regardless of whether someone’s looking at your site on a desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet, they’ll get the same easy-to-use experience.

Responsive design doesn’t just help user experience, though — it’s also a Google search ranking factor. That makes it a huge deal in the mobile marketing world, especially if you want to grow faster than your competitors.

This kind of design isn’t quite as cut-and-dry as Google Business Profile. Responsive design requires an in-depth knowledge of coding and the patience to test, revise, and perfect your site.

In other words, it’s a full-time job all on its own.

But the results pay for themselves quickly. By ranking higher in Google search results, you can get more visitors to your site and more leads.

Mobile marketing method #3: Conversion rate optimization (CRO)

Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is the process of refining your site, so you can turn visitors into leads as quickly as possible.

For mobile, that means making the conversion process brief. Only ask for essential information that lets you do your job, like:

  1. Customer name
  2. Email address
  3. Reason for contacting
  4. Optional additional details

While the above example doesn’t include some information — like a phone number or address — it at least has the information that you need to start working with a lead. You can always get the other information later.

On top of keeping it short, you should also require as few clicks (or “taps” on mobile) as possible for someone to convert.

That conversion process often follows one of two models:

  1. On-page form field conversion
  2. Tapping to a conversion page

On-page form field conversions are fast and easy. The process itself is simple:

  1. Visitor goes to page
  2. Taps form fields
  3. Fills in information
  4. Taps confirmation button

This method can be used on virtually every page of your site, which ensures visitors can convert into leads at any time.

Alternatively, you could funnel all of your visitors to a conversion page. That model looks like this:

  1. Visitor goes to page
  2. Taps link to conversion page
  3. Fills in information
  4. Taps confirmation button

This process is the same number of steps, but it requires a new page to load in the middle. Statistically speaking, the more clicks it takes for someone to convert, the fewer people will actually do it.

(That’s why Amazon has one-click purchasing.)

Plus, if you’re in an area that doesn’t have good service coverage, loading another page increases the chance that someone can drop out of the sales funnel from a lack of service.

In highly-populated areas, this isn’t a problem. But in mountainous areas, it’s a major concern. If cell service outages or dead zones are a problem in your area, it’s best to keep the conversion process as brief as possible.

Mobile marketing method #4: Fast-loading site pages

Loading speed is another major Google ranking factor, and it’s also a huge user experience concern.

Fast-loading pages ensure your users can find the information they want quickly. It also makes it easier (and more reliable) for them to convert.

You can implement fast-loading pages by stripping down key mobile pages on your site to make sure they load with minimal interruption. Optimizing image sizes, limiting color changes, and using minimal code is a great way to keep your site loading quickly.

Google actually has its own system for doing this, which is called accelerated mobile pages (AMP). While AMP hasn’t been implemented into Google’s algorithm yet, it’s a step in the right direction for mobile marketing.

This is especially true for a company like yours. Electricians, plumbers, repair professionals, interior decorators, and other location-based service providers all need leads to get in touch with them as quickly as possible.

For you, that could mean hiring a developer or outside responsive design agency to make your site as sleek and streamlined as possible.

As a home services company, that simple strategy will pay off big once you start attracting customers to your site.
