AI Mode info monitoring is rolling out to everyone, and it lets users ask Google to keep an eye on a price drop, a restock, a new business near them, or another topic they’re interested in. Google’s VP of Product for Google Search, Robby Stein, announced the global rollout on September 28, 2026, on X (formerly Twitter), after AI Pro and Ultra subscribers got first dibs on the agentic feature.
The agent will intelligently look across everything on the web, like blogs, news sites, social posts, and the Shopping Graph, which is Google’s catalog of more than 60 billion products. Learn how AI Mode info monitoring works, why marketers should pay attention, and what they should do:

What is AI Mode info monitoring?

— Robby Stein (@rmstein) September 28, 2026
You tell AI Mode exactly what to look for, and Search checks sites, forums, social posts, Google’s real-time data sources, and the Shopping Graph. Search can also suggest other related topics while you search.
Google first previewed a monitoring feature at I/O in May 2026, described as “information agents.” According to Google’s announcement, the agents operate in the background 24/7 and check the web, including blogs, news sites, and social posts. The agents then send a synthesized update for the user.
Google announced that the capability would be launched for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers that summer. In September 2026, Stein announced that the feature is rolling out to all users globally.
Why you should pay attention: Your prospects may be tracking your prices, hours, and availability
Users can ask Google to watch for price drops, restocks, and new openings. Anything you publish online, such as your pricing, inventory status, business hours, or event dates, can show up in the updates your prospects may be tracking.
Google Search not only checks your website, but also forums, social posts, and listings, so when there’s inconsistent data about your business, your prospect may see the incorrect one.
Google hasn’t shared more details yet, though. It hasn’t explained how Search picks the sources behind an update, whether every update links to your site, or how often monitoring checks for changes. What we do know is that Search pulls from sites, forums, social posts, and its real-time data, so consistent details are the one factor fully in your control.
For example, imagine a garage door company that lists weekend operating hours on its website but shows only weekday hours on its Google Business Profile. A homeowner who follows garage door businesses near them could be shown either version.
The bottom line? Your prospects may be asking AI Mode to watch your business, so publish the same accurate details everywhere.
How to get ready: Use the three-step Monitor-Ready Audit to keep your business information consistent
The Monitor-Ready Audit is a three-step check that ensures the details you publish are consistent across your website, listings, and social posts, so any monitoring update shows your prospects the right information.
Step 1. List the details your customers might ask Google to track
Write down every detail your customer could ask Google to watch, such as:
- Price
- Product availability
- Business hours
- Event dates
- Shipping and return terms
- Main product or service specs
- Service areas, lead times, and emergency availability
- Lead times
A home services company would add emergency availability and service areas, and an equipment maker would add lead times and spec sheet figures.
Not sure what shoppers ask about? Start with the data you already have. You can use a keyword research tool to see the words people use when searching for your offering.
Google Search Console lists the queries that already bring people to your site, and GA4 shows which landing pages get the most organic traffic. Together, these Google tools help you choose where to start.
Your sales and customer service teams are excellent sources, as your customers get to interact with them, too.
Step 2. Check that each detail is accurate on your website and other sources
Now that you have a list of details that your customers may want to track about your offerings and business, check whether the information available online is accurate. Check the following in this order, from the places you have the most control over to the places you have the least control:
- Your website. Ensure your product or service pages, contact page, and event pages have accurate and consistent information about your business and offerings. This is the easiest place to check and fix.
- Your Google Business Profile and other local listings. Check that your operating hours, phone number, service areas, and location are consistent across Google Business Profile and other directories. Pro tip: Use LocalFX to update and sync listings across 100 directories, ensuring they’re consistent and accurate.
- Your Google Merchant Center product feed, if you sell products online.
- Social posts. Make sure your social media ads, pinned posts, and announcements mention the correct prices or dates.
- Forums. While you can’t edit someone else’s post with incorrect information about your business or products, you can reply with the correct details.
Google Merchant Center is a Google tool for uploading and managing product data so your products can appear across Search, Maps, YouTube, and more. Google’s policies exclude services from the Merchant Center so that a service business can skip that item.
You don’t have to check your details manually in AI Mode. Instead, use tools like OmniSEO®’s AI Mode tracker, which monitors citations, competitive positioning, and brand mentions in Google AI Mode, so you can see how your brand shows up in conversational search.

Goodbye search engine optimization, hello search everywhere optimization.
Step 3. Create a process that your team can sustain for checking and updating your business details online
Spreading your team thin to manually monitor and update your online information isn’t the most efficient use of their time. Instead, create a simple, documented process that lets your team keep your business details accurate.
Prioritize the most important details you want to be accurate across the web. If you’re a home services provider, service areas, operating hours, and contact details may be your most crucial information.
Maintain a shared process documentation, which includes the following:
- The tools (such as LocalFX) you use
- Your priority list of business or product details
- The team members responsible for the project
- Your team’s cadence of checking and updating
