See Inside WebFX December 2019: Dashing Through the Snow

December is always a festive month at the FXCampus as we all love getting into the holiday spirit! If you wanted proof, our event lineup from the month shows just how festive we are! We hosted a Christmas cookie exchange, launched Techmas earlier in the month at our bi-annual goals meeting, and donned ugly sweaters for all to see.

But that list doesn’t even scratch the surface! It’s always fun to end the year on a positive note as we look back on all we’ve accomplished — both as a company and as individuals. It’s also a great time to look ahead to the goals we’re setting for ourselves, our teams, and the company.

If 2019 was any indicator of what 2020 has in store for us, we welcome the new year with open arms! We don’t let the cold weather keep us from having fun after hours. Here’s a roundup of what December looked like at WebFX!

FXCommunities Wine & Paint Night Every month, our FXCommunity groups get together for themed activities — whether it’s for a happy hour, food, book club, etc., and this past month our Paint, Draw & Snap Community group met for a wine & paint night. They went with a festive theme and painted snowmen while sipping on wine from our office wine rack. You really can’t beat that!

One of the best things about our FXCommunity groups is that we can bring our favorite after-work hobbies into the office to share with others that have the same interests. Not only are our FXCommunity events free, but it’s a great opportunity to meet others who have similar interests, unwind with coworkers, and get to know each other better. FXFamily & Friends Holiday Movie As an annual WebFX winter tradition, we rent out our local cinema for an evening to enjoy not one, but two holiday movies!

The team is encouraged to join us after they complete their hours for the day and unwind with pizza, beer, photos with Santa, and of course a movie! The cinema is conveniently located just around the corner from our office and makes for a fun after-work activity with coworkers and their families. This year our team grew enough that we rented all three of the cinema’s theaters which gave our team another movie option!

As we look to 2020, this same cinema is expecting some major renovations, which we’re super excited about! Techmas Our team looks forward to the launch of Techmas every December where our team gets to upgrade their tech equipment for the year ahead! We all love having the opportunity to upgrade our personal equipment, like smartphones and cameras, but we also love the opportunity to upgrade to the fanciest work equipment of our choice!

At WebFX, we know it’s important for us to stay on top of industry trends, and having top-of-the-line tech equipment is just one of the ways we do it! Holiday Cookie Exchange We have some really awesome bakers on our team, and last year, they had a great idea to host our first holiday cookie exchange over lunch hour! This optional event is fun, festive, and full of sugar!

We were eager to host it for the second time this year – as we’re certain this will become a holiday staple at the office! Everyone who would like to participate is encouraged to bring a few bags of their homemade cookies and in exchange, they’ll receive a few bags to take home. Or they can just eat the cookies themselves judgment-free.

Holiday Ugly Sweater & Swag Competition There’s no denying our team knows how to sleigh all day, as shown by the level of holiday ugly sweaters and swag our team donned for this competition. For one day only, we host an ugly (i.e. tacky/all-around festive hats, sweaters, shirts, scarves, costumes, you name it) dress day and friendly competition at the FXCampus to help countdown to Christmas!

Both our internal and remote employees are encouraged to participate, and both have a chance of winning one of our epic prizes! Our team loves a little friendly competition, plus it never hurts to get into the swing of Christmas with our ugly sweaters and swag!
