The WebFX Hiring Process

WebFX has been growing steadily for the last ten years: from humble beginnings in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, all the way to our new riverfront home in Harrisburg. And as the #1 Best Place to Work in PA, we take our responsibilities as community leaders very seriously.

Our multi-step interview process is designed to ensure that you’re a great fit for the FXFamily and that WebFX is a great fit for your career goals. Keep reading to learn more about the WebFX hiring process!

Structured and Consistent: Our process is the same for the majority of our roles — typically entry-level positions that include comprehensive training and onboarding. Every applicant goes through the same steps with the same hiring team, so we can fairly and consistently assess fit across all opportunities. This gives each candidate the opportunity to be considered for roles they might not have previously considered but could potentially be what they were looking for all along, while not needing to extend the process further in order to be considered for multiple opportunities.

Collaborative + Multi-Step: You’ll meet with several team members of our hiring team to get diverse perspectives, have the opportunity to keep asking us questions, and explore different areas of the company. We’re here to learn more about you and help identify the role that best matches your strengths, goals, and interests. We find that providing both you and our team adequate time to get to know each other allows for the most mutually beneficial fit long term.

Finding the Best Fit, Together: Sometimes the perfect fit is the position you applied for — other times, it’s a similar role that aligns even more closely with your background or aspirations. Either way, our goal is the same as yours: to help you find a career path where you’ll feel engaged, challenged, and supported for years to come.

4 Step Process

We believe great hiring is a two-way street — our process is designed to help you learn more about WebFX while we learn more about you. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Phone 1. Phone Interview (30 Minutes)

    Phone Interview (30 Minutes)

    If your application aligns well with what we’re looking for, you’ll be invited to a 30-minute phone interview with one of our Talent Acquisition Specialists. This is a casual conversation focused on getting to know you — your background, goals, and what you’re looking for in your next step. We’ll also start exploring how your strengths could align with different roles at WebFX.

    Written Interview + Strengths Showcase

    Next, you’ll have the chance to share more about your experiences, accomplishments, and goals through a short written interview. This helps us get a clearer sense of how you communicate and think.

    You’ll also be asked to complete a low-pressure skill/personality assessment as part of this stage. Think of these as a way to showcase your strengths and preferences — not tests you need to “pass.” They’re just one of several ways we get to know you better and find the role that fits you best.

    First In-Depth Conversation

    In this step, you’ll have a longer interview (typically via video call or in person) with a member of our hiring team. It’s a more detailed conversation where we’ll explore your fit across different teams, answer your questions, and learn more about what motivates you.

    We know choosing a new job is a big decision, and we want you to feel confident every step of the way. If you’re local to Pennsylvania, we encourage at least one of your interviews to take place in person so you can experience our Harrisburg campus firsthand — including our riverfront views, coffee bar, and a chance to meet some of the team face-to-face.

    Final Interview

    This is your final conversation with a member of our hiring team. Like the previous step, it can be held in person or virtually, depending on your preference and location. We’ll go deeper into your potential role, answer any remaining questions, and ensure that the opportunity is the right fit for you — not just now, but for your long-term career growth.

    Depending on the role and how your experience aligns, this stage may also include a brief skills assessment (such as a coding exercise) or a short job shadow with one of our team members. These steps are used selectively to give both you and our team additional insight — whether that’s into your technical skills or how your strengths might match across different teams.

    Not every candidate will complete these steps; we only include them when they’re helpful in making the best mutual match. If they are part of your interview experience, we’ll always let you know in advance and make sure everything remains efficient, transparent, and respectful of your time.
