There is so much marketing technology (martech) out there now that can help you improve your marketing campaigns.
In this video, I’ll be going over six major benefits of martech.
Let’s get to it.
1. Stay organized
When you work in marketing, you deal with a lot of data. And this is just a shot in the dark, here, but I would guess that you probably don’t want to track all of that data by hand.
Sure, you can track data in a spreadsheet, but it’s way more convenient to use a tool that’s specifically designed to store and organize marketing data. A lot of those tools also let you do cool stuff like storing your data in the cloud, connecting that data to other tools, sending it to other teams, and more.
There are plenty of different data-storing marketing tools out there, including:
- Data management platforms (DMPs)
- Customer data platforms (CDPs)
- Customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
- Enterprise resource planning platforms (ERPs)
Overall, your organization will really benefit from having marketing tools on hand.
2. Learn more about your audience
If you want effective marketing, you should definitely know who it is that you’re marketing to. That means you need to gather and analyze customer data.
Well, guess what makes that process a lot easier? That’s right — martech. Martech platforms, like CRMs or CDPs, can gather and organize customer data from different sources, giving you plenty of insights to learn from. They can create audiences for your campaigns, generate reports, and help you identify trends and patterns in your data.
With all of this information, you can launch campaigns that cater to your audience’s needs.
3. Improve your campaigns
I just mentioned how you can use martech to analyze data about your customers. But you can also use it to analyze the kinds of results your campaigns are driving.
Is one of your email campaigns driving tons of leads? Is your paid advertising strategy not performing as well as you’d like? Whatever your campaigns are doing, you can see it when you use martech to organize and analyze the data you get from them. You can find patterns that show you how to improve your campaigns going forward.
Best of all, a lot of martech can actually help you to make those improvements.
4. Automate routine tasks
Marketing comes with tons of mundane tasks, from transferring data to sending out individual emails. If you do all those tasks yourself, you’re not gonna have time to do much else.
With the right tools, you can automate a lot of those simple, routine tasks, letting the tools handle them for you while you spend time on the more important things. For example, you can get an email automation platform to automatically send out emails at certain times or when people take certain actions.
This frees up so much of your time and makes your overall marketing process more efficient.
5. Perform manual tasks faster
We know that marketing can handle basic, automated tasks. But you’re still pretty much on your own with the stuff you have to do manually, right?
Actually, no. Martech can speed up those manual tasks you can’t automate.
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a great example of this. You should still be creating your content manually — it’s a bad idea to let AI do that job on its own, for so many reasons — but AI can still help you create it. Like, if you’re writing a blog post, AI can help you generate an initial outline, cutting that writing time in half.
That’s just one example of how you can speed up your process with martech.
6. Improve internal communication
A final benefit of technology in marketing is that it improves communication within your business. One common problem that businesses experience is data siloing, which is where different teams need to gather similar data, but they do it independently and don’t share that data with one another.
Martech can solve that problem. With a customer data tool like a CRM, for example, your marketing and sales teams could stay connected on your customer data. Both teams could upload data as they found it, and then if one team needed data that the other team had, they could access it right there in the tool.
The same goes for other teams and other tools. Overall, martech is an awesome way to get everyone in your business on the same page.
