If you’re familiar with digital marketing, you know analytics is vital. It allows you to track the results of your advertising efforts and determine how you can improve your campaigns to drive more conversions.
Google Analytics is one of the most popular tools for conducting analytics on your website. But while it has the benefit of being free, Google Analytics has its share of shortcomings — and for that reason, you might prefer to use a more comprehensive tool.
So, what are some good Google Analytics alternatives for your company? For an answer to that question, just keep reading. Then subscribe to Revenue Weekly — our email newsletter — for more marketing tips from the agency with over 28 years of experience!
8 Google Analytics alternatives you can try
It’s crucial that you keep up with metrics related to your marketing performance, particularly when it comes to your website’s traffic and rankings. To learn more about checking your site’s SEO services, check out this video:
That said, there are many different analytics tools out there, and Google Analytics is just one of them. Here are eight other analytics software examples you can try!
1. Hubspot
Price: $45+ per month
Hubspot is the ideal alternative to Google Analytics if you want an analytics platform built right into your customer relationship management (CRM) program. Hubspot is best known for its CRM capabilities, so if you’re already considering using it for that, you can also use it for your analytics.
In addition to its standard CRM functions, Hubspot will track activity on your website, including where users come from and which pages they visit. Best of all, it will tie all that information back to the customer profiles you have in your CRM.
Hubspot also allows you to build customized reports for the metrics that matter most.
2. Ahrefs
Price: $99+ per month
Ahrefs exists primarily as a search engine optimization (SEO) tool, but its SEO functions include helping you conduct analytics about your website.
For instance, you can use it to see how well your website ranks for specific keywords, as well as which Google searches bring in the most traffic. You can also gain insight into your domain authority, which is how well you’re ranking compared to your competitors.
Best of all, you can easily view most of this information right from your dashboard in Ahrefs, so you don’t have to go hunting for it.
3. Semrush
Price: $120+ per month
Semrush, like Ahrefs, is primarily built for SEO analytics. But also like Ahrefs, it gives you valuable insights into your website as part of that function.
This tool can help you monitor your backlinks — which ones you have, where they’re coming from, and where you have opportunities to gain more. Furthermore, Semrush gives you insights into your competitors’ SEO and websites.
While Semrush has a higher price tag, you get plenty of value for that price, so it can be well worth your investment if it’s in your budget.
4. FoxMetrics
Price: Free, or $299 per month for an upgraded plan
FoxMetrics is an alternative to Google Analytics that puts its focus on segmentation. That means that as it gathers data from your website visitors, it categorizes that data into relevant groups. That includes dividing up your customers into different categories.
Additionally, FoxMetrics lets you create customized data models. Because creating these models requires a degree of structured query language (SQL) knowledge, this platform is best for people who have some familiarity with coding.
If you fit that description, though, FoxMetrics can be an excellent tool to use.
5. Optimizely
Price: Based on custom quote
Optimizely is one of the biggest names in the marketing analytics world, allowing you to perform all the standard analytics functions and more. To name just one additional feature, you can use Optimizely to perform A/B tests on your site and record the resulting data.
This platform boasts an intuitive interface that makes it easy to navigate your way around your different types of data and track the way that data changes over time. It’s not built for beginners, but it’s also more intuitive than other options.
6. Adobe Analytics
Price: Based on custom quote
One of the best analytics platforms is Adobe Analytics, which is designed specifically for enterprise-level companies. Of course, you don’t have to be an enterprise to use it, but if you are one, this platform was made for you.
Adobe tracks user activity on your website, as well as in your various online marketing and advertising campaigns. From there, you have the option of using other tools in the Adobe Experience Cloud suite to harness your analytics to reoptimize your marketing.
7. Clicky
Price: Free, or $9.99+ per month for an upgraded version
If you want to avoid using an overcomplicated tool, Clicky might be the best analytics platform for you. At least in the free version, it makes a point of sticking to the basics. That said, the upgraded versions do come with more features, including heat mapping.
One of the nicest features of Clicky is that it pulls all the data in real time, so there’s no delay between when something happens on your site and when you can see the results of that activity and start analyzing it.
8. MarketingCloudFX
Price: Based on custom quote
