It often involves lots of research, as well as the time it takes you to write, design, edit, and publish it on your site. However, each piece of content you create has the ability to help you achieve your business goals, whether you want to increase traffic to your website, gain new leads, or earn more authority backlinks.

- Review your blog posts and site pages, and use Google Analytics to find your most popular content.
- Select evergreen content—pieces that are timeless and high-quality. It’s a good idea to update content that stays continually relevant and can provide value to readers for months or years to come.
- Decide if you have anything else to say about a topic. Did you miss anything in your original post? Is there new data or information since the time you published the post?
If so, it’s the perfect content to repurpose.
How to repurpose content
After you select the posts you want to update, it’s time to get creative. Let’s take a look at a few ideas for repurposing your content.
1. Turn lists into individual pieces of content
Lists are a popular blog post format, but they sometimes don’t leave enough room to cover each item in detail. If you have lists on your site, look for places where you’ve already summarized complex ideas. This allows you to expand on various aspects of the original article and talk about each point in greater depth.
The reverse is also true, too. You can combine multiple, related posts into one comprehensive piece of content, such as an infographic or blog post.
2. Create a presentation and post it on SlideShare
Stats, quotes, and advice can make great slides, and you can use them to create a presentation that recaps the main points in your original piece of content. And when you share a presentation on SlideShare, it can create more opportunities for people to engage with your content. Using PowerPoint, Prezi, or Google Drive, you can easily compile a presentation and publish it with the click of a button.
3. Publish an infographic
Consider creating a visual outline of blog posts by turning them into infographics. Infographics help people relate to data and allow them to easily grasp the main points of an article. Want to create an infographic but worried your design skills aren’t up to par?

If the changes are minor, you can simply make them and leave the post where it is. But if you completely overhaul the content, you can republish it as a new post in order to attract more visitors.
5. Create a podcast or video series
Not everyone prefers text content, and repurposing content into podcasts or videos can help you connect with more people. You can even use old content as a springboard for discussions on a podcast or video series. In addition, you can include a transcript and post podcasts and videos to your website.
6. Turn statistics into social media posts
Have some interesting stats that you’re dying to share? You can post them as social media updates and create custom graphics to accompany the posts. Then, you can direct people to your website to find out more information.
7. Publish a case study
Want to share exciting data with your readers? Consider compiling original data or research into a case study, and share the wealth with your audience. By providing them with helpful information, you can position your company as an industry leader and keep them coming back for more tips.
8. Create an ebook or marketing guide
If you have lots of content on a particular topic, you can combine the information into a comprehensive ebook or guide and supplement it with added content. You can also add graphic elements to further engage readers. You can publish these in a separate area on your site, and can even choose to gate them and require people to enter their email addresses to receive access.
This can help you grow your subscriber list.
9. Repost on social media
Finally, after you update your content, don’t forget to share it on social media. This allows you to reach more people and let them know about your updated posts. In addition, you can post your content on sites like Quora and Reddit to create additional buzz.
